DAY 01

Arrival in Skopje

Flight to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. You will be welcomed at the airport by our professional, English-speaking tour guide. Transfer and check-in to your 4-star hotel in the Skopje region.

DAY 02

UNESCO World Heritage & Shkodra

We begin with a short city tour in Skopje, the charming capital of North Macedonia. Afterwards, we travel through spectacular landscapes to the impressive Gračanica Monastery. We visit this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site (entrance included) near Pristina. Then we continue to Prizren. This multicultural town is characterized by mosques, synagogues, Orthodox churches, and Catholic cathedrals. We also visit the 500-year-old stone bridge, which is the symbol of the city. Afterwards, we admire another fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ljeveski Monastery (entrance included). Founded in the 14th century, it is the oldest five-domed church of Serbian art. In the late afternoon, we reach the 2,400-year-old cultural city of Shkodra on Lake Shkodra. We stroll through the old town to Democracy Square and visit the Ebu Bekr Mosque (entrance included) and St. Stephen’s Cathedral (entrance included). Overnight stay in a 4-star hotel in the Shkodra area.

DAY 03

Kotor (UNESCO) & Porto Montenegro

After breakfast, we travel along the beautiful Lake Shkodra to Podgorica. We take a short break in the charming capital of Montenegro. Afterwards, we admire the superyachts of the rich and famous in the elegant Porto Montenegro marina. The highlight of our journey now awaits us. We drive along the famous Bay of Kotor before reaching one of the most well-known bays in the world, the Bay of Kotor. The view of the “southernmost fjord in Europe” is simply breathtaking. In the shadow of Mount St. Ivan, we stroll through the old town and are amazed by this picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site. We spend the night in a 4-star hotel in the Budva area.

DAY 04

Budva & Sveti Stefan Island

In the morning, the next highlight awaits: Budva. With over 2,500 years of history, the old town is one of the oldest on the Adriatic coast. We stroll through narrow alleys and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere. Of course, we also visit the famous ballerina statue – a truly magical place. In the afternoon, we admire Montenegro’s landmark, Sveti Stefan. From a viewpoint, we have a fantastic view of this enchanting island. The tradition of craftsmanship then takes us to a jewelry workshop and a leather atelier. Here we learn interesting details about production and have the opportunity to choose a holiday souvenir. Afterwards, we take a panoramic drive along the Adriatic coast to Ulcinj, where we stay overnight in a 4-star hotel.

DAY 05

Tirana & The Via Egnatia

Today we explore Tirana, the lively capital of Albania. Albania is considered a new hidden gem in Europe thanks to its unspoiled nature, dreamlike beaches, and outstanding attractions. We walk to the famous Skanderbeg Square, one of the largest urban squares in the world. Here we admire the clock tower, the National Historical Museum, and the Et’hem Bey Mosque. We then continue along the famous Roman road Via Egnatia to our 4-star hotel at Lake Ohrid, where we will stay for the next two nights.

DAY 06

Ohrid (UNESCO) & St. Naum Monastery

Today we explore Ohrid, the enchanting city of North Macedonia. Due to its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, including around 365 churches, this UNESCO World Heritage site is also known as the “Jerusalem of the Balkans.” We stroll through the old town and enjoy its warm atmosphere and vibrant spirit. We then pass by a small paper museum, where paper is still produced using traditional methods from hundreds of years ago. Afterwards, we visit the centuries-old Sveti Naum Monastery (entrance included), which fascinates us with its numerous frescoes and its direct location on Lake Ohrid. The lake is the deepest and one of the oldest in Europe.

Skopje Final
DAY 07 - 08

Skopje & Return Journey

On day 7, we return to Skopje. On the way, we visit a traditional carpet weaving workshop and admire this centuries-old craftsmanship. In Skopje, we explore Macedonia Square, decorated with many statues, including Alexander the Great on horseback. From there, we continue to the historic Stone Bridge, over 220 meters long. We pass by the memorial house of Mother Teresa, who was born in Skopje. Then we stroll through the Old Bazaar, the largest in the Balkans. The highlight is St. Kliment Cathedral (entrance included), decorated with beautiful frescoes and featuring the world’s largest depiction of Jesus in its dome. Day 8 is time to say goodbye. A wonderful week comes to an end. We head to the airport and fly happily back to Germany.
