8-Day Ancient Civilization and 5-Star Luxury Cruise
We arrive in Egypt with a comfortable flight. We visit the fascinating Philae Temple, located on Agilkia Island and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. After seeing Lake Nasser and the Aswan High Dam, we settle into our 5-star Nile cruise ship, which will be our home throughout the tour.
After breakfast, we enjoy the Nile, the world's longest river, from the sun deck. In the afternoon, we anchor at Kom Ombo to discover the unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris (entrance included), along with the nearby Crocodile Museum. We spend the evening sailing towards Edfu.
The treasures of ancient Thebes await us. We visit the massive 30-hectare Karnak Temple (entrance included), built by 30 pharaohs over 1,500 years, and the magical Avenue of Sphinxes with over 1,000 statues. Then, we witness the splendor of Luxor Temple, a masterpiece of giant columns and hieroglyphs.
We explore the Valley of the Kings (entrance included), home to the mysterious tombs of the pharaohs. Next, we visit the magnificent three-terraced temple of Hatshepsut, the most powerful female ruler. We end the day admiring the Colossi of Memnon, each weighing 720 tons and standing 18 meters high.
Our 5-star cruise on the Nile concludes as we depart for the Red Sea by comfortable bus. Along the way, we pass the fertile lands of the Nile oases and moon-like desert landscapes. After visiting a traditional carpet weaving workshop, we settle into our 5-star hotel in Safaga.
We explore Hurghada, the shining star of the Red Sea. We visit the majestic El-Mina Mosque, the modern marina, the historic old town, and the vibrant fish market. To learn about local handicrafts, we visit jewelry and leather workshops to gain insight into the production processes.
For our final two days, we relax at our 5-star hotel with a private beach on the shores of the Red Sea, one of the most beautiful seas in the world. You can swim in crystal waters, enjoy the sun, or take long walks on the beach. On the 8th day, we return home with unforgettable memories of this cultural and luxury adventure.
