It was the capital of Oman until the 12th century and remains the religious center of the country to this day. We stroll through the old town and the souk, famous for its khanjars, traditional silver daggers. The Great Fort of Nizwa (admission included) impresses with its massive round tower, the highest fortress tower in Oman. In the afternoon, we cross the border into the United Arab Emirates and reach Al Ain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Al Ain
DAY 04

Today we experience Al Ain, one of the most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United Arab Emirates. During an exciting city tour, we see Al Jahili Fort, the traditional camel market with great photo opportunities, and the impressive Sheikh Khalifa Mosque. We also visit the Al Ain Oasis, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its extensive gardens, it invites leisurely walks along shaded paths through lush palm groves. With around 370,000 inhabitants, Al Ain is the second largest city in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Important caravan routes once passed through here. The oil boom and numerous freshwater springs have given this “Garden City of the Emirates” a significant boost in recent years.
